Early 1960ís Mickey Keating St. Paul Saints Game Worn Jersey
Lot #415
This home white dureen gamer by General Athletic was worn by Mickey Keating during the early 1960’s during IHL play. The Saints existed as a franchise for a mere four seasons spanning 1959-63. The Saints were coached by the legendary Fred Shero and went to the Turner Cup Finals in each of their first three seasons, winning back-to-back Turner Cups in their first two years. Keating played for the Saints in each of their four seasons, winning a pair of Championships in the process. Mickey was a stalwart on their blueline, scoring double-digit goals in each of his three full years with the club. His career best season came in 1960-61 when he lit the lamp 16 times and added 45 assists for 61 points to go along with 101 PIMS in 69 games played.

Proudly sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The sleeves on this jersey have been shortened. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired holes and trauma, stitch pops, inner pilling and in excess of a dozen team-sewn repairs. This stunning 60-year-old championship era sweater shows nice game use and is the first example of its kind that we’ve seen appear at Major Auction.
