Lot #239
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Michel Goulet Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of Hockey Hall of Famer, Michel Goulet. Mr. Goulet personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his legendary NHL career. A signed letter from Mr. Goulet will accompany your purchase.

This black Hespeler 5500 hockey stick was game used by Hall of Famer Doug Gilmour while playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The St. Louis Blues selected “Killer” in the 7th round of the 1982 Entry Draft. He played in St. Louis for 5 seasons before joining the Calgary Flames in 1988-89. Many believe that Gilmour was the missing piece to Calgary’s puzzle, as in his first season with the club they captured the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, and the only one of Doug’s career. After parts of 4 seasons with the Flames, Gilmour joined the team he is most associated with, the Toronto Maple Leafs. He would spend most of the next 6 seasons playing for the Leafs, and during that time he emerged as one of the NHL’s true stars and a bonifide leader. The latter stages of Gilmour’s career included stops in New Jersey, Chicago, Buffalo, Montreal and one final game in Toronto before an injury ended his career. All told this Center iceman played in 1474 games over the course of 20 NHL seasons. He finished his career with 450 goals, 964 assists and 1414 points. In 182 playoff games, Doug lit the lamp 60 times and scored a total of 188 points. This 2-time NHL All Star was also the recipient of the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the league’s best defensive forward. Gilmour also represented Team Canada in the classic 1987 Canada Cup series. Gilmour’s number 93 was retired and raised to the rafters in Toronto and he is a deserving member of the 2011 Hockey Hall of Fame class.

This black Hespeler stick has the player name “D. Gilmour” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Doug has autographed the blade. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition. This fresh to the hobby example comes directly from the personal collection of Michel Goulet and will be accompanied by his signed LOA.
