This black CCM helmet was worn by Los Angeles Kings great Dave Taylor. Believe it or not, Taylor was the 210th player selected in the 1975 NHL entry draft, what a deal! He cracked the Kings lineup in 1977-78 and never left, spending his entire 17-year career with the Los Angeles franchise until his retirement following the 1993-94 season. Forming the RW side of the famed Triple Crown line, Taylor prospered alongside Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer.
Dave was voted 2nd team NHL All Star in 1981 and played in 4 NHL All Star games. He was the 1991 recipient of both the Bill Masterton Trophy and the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. In a career that spanned 1111 games Taylor put up 431 goals and 1069 points. In 1985-86 Taylor assumed the Kings Captaincy and remained in that role until passing the torch to Wayne Gretzky to begin the 1989-90 season.
The helmet has the Kings logos on both sides of the back, The Kings name on both sides and Taylor's famous #18 on the back. The helmet has been beautifully autographed "To Bill Thanks for you help over the Years! All the Best, Your Friend, Dave Taylor Kings #18 1977-1994. A beautiful, hard to find item, from this all-time Kings great. Originally obtained by a long time Kings employee.
