Description
Dave Langevin WHA Edmonton Oilers Victoriaville Game Used Stick Team Signed
Lot #456
This Victoriaville hockey stick was game used by Dave Langevin in 1978-79 while playing for the Edmonton Oilers in the WHA. The New York Islanders and Edmonton Oilers both selected Langevin respectively in the 1974 NHL and WHA Amateur Drafts. After 4 seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, this St. Paul, MN native joined the WHA’s Edmonton Oilers where he played for 3 seasons. After the NHL/WHA merger, Langevin joined the New York Islanders where he went to 5 straight Stanley Cup Finals in his first 5 NHL seasons and walked away with 4 Championship Rings. Langevin spent 6 years with the Islanders, a year with the North Stars and a partial season with the Kings before retiring. He was a 2nd team WHA All Star and also played in the 1983 NHL All Star game, in recognition of his tremendous defensive skills. Internationally, Langevin was a member of Team USA during the 1976 World Championships and the 1981 Canada Cup.

This Victoriaville hockey stick has the player name “D. Langevin” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. The stick is team signed by 23 members of the 1978-79 Oilers including Brett Callighen, Blair McDonald, Dave Langevin, Paul Shmyr, Dave Dryden, Doug Berry, Ron Chipperfield, Steve Carlson, Dave Hunter and Bill Goldsworth (d. 1996). The signatures are faded and somewhat hard to read. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
