Darryl Sittler Philadelphia Flyers Sher-Wood Game Used Stick
Lot #571

This Sher-Wood PMP 5030 hockey stick was game used by Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler while playing for the Philadelphia Flyers. Sittler’s accomplishments during his 16-year NHL career are lengthy indeed. His first 12 seasons were spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he became both the Captain and the face of the franchise. Nobody will ever forget the night of February 7th, 1976 when Sittler produced the greatest offensive game in the history of the NHL. Darryl struck for 6 goals and 4 assists for a total of 10 points in a single game against the Boston Bruins, an NHL record still to this day. That incredible night helped Sittler become the first Maple Leaf’s player in team history to reach 100 points in a season.

There was something special about 1976 for Sittler, who would net 5 goals in a playoff game against the Philadelphia Flyers and also score the game winner in overtime to clinch the 1976 Canada Cup for Team Canada. After his time with the Leafs, Sittler next spent parts of 3 seasons in Philadelphia, which included yet another 40-goal season on his resume. Darryl then finished his career with a final season in the Motor City. His illustrious career ended with 486 goals and 1121 points. Sittler was often found among the top 10 in league scoring and in 1977-78 Darryl’s 117 points placed him 3rd behind only Guy Lafleur and Bryan Trottier for the league scoring title. Darryl remains to this day one of the Maple Leafs all-time greats, and sits at or near the top of many offensive categories in team history. Sittler was a staple in the annual NHL All Star contest and also partook in the 1979 Challenge Cup against the Russians. Following the mandatory waiting period, Sittler was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name “Sittler” stamped on the side, partially under the butt tape. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. The heel has been cracked and repaired otherwise it is in beautiful condition.
