This Dallas Cowboys road white jersey by Apex One was worn by wide receiver Jimmy Smith very early in his NFL career. After playing his college football at Jackson State, Jimmy was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2nd round of the 1992 NFL Draft. After playing the 1992 season with the Cowboys on special teams and winning a Super Bowl, Smith was diagnosed with appendicitis during the preseason of 1993. Between the operation and complications, Smith missed the entire 1993 season, and was then released by the Cowboys when he refused to take a pay cut. After being signed and released by the Eagles in 1994, Smith signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after a tryout in 1995.
Smith played 11 seasons with the Jags, accumulating 862 receptions for 12,287 yards. Smith had over 100 receptions in a season twice in his career, 1999 and 2001. He shares the NFL record of most games with 5 or more receptions in season (16), with at least 5 receptions in every game in 2001. To this day he still holds many Jaguar franchise records including most career receptions (862) and most receptions in a single season (116), leading the league. Smith is a two-time Super Bowl Champion, two-time second-team NFL All Pro and played in 5 Pro Bowls.
This road white jersey has the player name “J. Smith” on the back. The player number “82” is on the front, both sleeves and the back. The Apex One “Created Exclusively for the Dallas Cowboys” manufacturer and size tag is sewn in the hem.
