Description
Circa 1967 University of Pennsylvania Game Worn Jersey Player #11
Lot #314

This white dureen gamer was worn by player #11 while skating for the University of Pennsylvania circa the 1967 season, as the school’s hockey program got underway. The team began play in 1966-67 in ECAC-2 before spending the remaining 11 seasons of the program’s existence in ECAC Division I. UPenn’s final year of play was 1977-78.

The underarms of this gamer have wool inserts sewn into them. Sewn to the inside hem of this gamer is an old-school size tag. The remainder of the other tagging stitched from alongside has been lost to history. The game wear on this size 44 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and about a dozen team-sewn repairs. Dating to the beginning of the prestigious school’s hockey program, this well-worn offering is a beautiful representation from the University of Pennsylvania’s brief dozen-year foray into NCAA hockey.
