This vintage wool sweater was worn during the pre-war era. Our research found only one pre-war era team nicknamed the Comets. There was a team named the Philadelphia Comets of the 1932-33 Tri-State Hockey League. The team photo seen above shows them wearing a very similarly styled jersey to the one being offered here. Being that it isn’t an identical match, we will not say for certain that this is a 1932-33 Philadelphia Comets gamer. We will allow you to draw your own conclusions.

Moderate game wear exists on this vintage blue and white wool gamer which includes some light team-sewn repair work. Only a few small holes exist on this entire jersey, those being found on the back. Therefore this wool is to be considered in fine condition for its age. The Comets patched crest is sewn onto the sweater and has faded some thru the years. Fantastic vintage offering of hockey’s early history.
