Chris Pronger St. Louis Blues Black Bauer Game Worn Skates Autographed
Lot #386

These black hockey skates by Bauer were game worn by Hall of Famer Chris Pronger while playing for the St. Louis Blues. Pronger’s Hall of Fame career began in 1993 when Hartford made him the 2nd overall selection in the NHL Entry Draft that year. Chris spent 2 seasons on the Whalers blueline before a blockbuster deal sent him to St. Louis in exchange for Brendan Shanahan. Chris spent 9 seasons honing his craft in St. Louis before joining Edmonton for a year. He next spent 3 seasons with Anaheim and then completed his career delivering bone-crunching hits for the Philadelphia Flyers before being forced into premature retirement due to post concussion syndrome.

Pronger’s timely additions to Edmonton, Anaheim and Philadelphia all saw those teams make it to the Stanley Cup Finals in his first year of service, quite a statement. It would then come as no surprise that Pronger won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman, the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player along with a couple of plus/minus awards and the ultimate trophy, the Stanley Cup. Chris was a 4-time 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in a handful of NHL All Star games. No stranger to the international stage, Pronger represented Team Canada in 4 different Olympics! Considered one of the finest defenseman of his era, Pronger was recently voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on his first ballot.

These Bauer skates have the player number “44” written in black marker on the bottom of one skate. Chris has autographed both skates in silver sharpie.
