Cam Neely Boston Bruins White Canadien Game Used Stick Autographed
Lot #546

This white Canadien C50 hockey stick was game used by Cam Neely while playing for the Boston Bruins. The Vancouver Canucks selected Neely with the 9th overall pick in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Following 3 less than stellar seasons in Vancouver, Cam was dealt to the Boston Bruins in the summer of 1986. This marked the beginning of a love affair between Neely and the Boston Garden faithful. Cam would spend 10 seasons representing the city of Boston, where he carved out a Hall of Fame career before injuries forced him to hang up the skates for good at too young of an age. Neely was looked upon as the heart and soul of the team during his tenure with the Bruins. This era saw the franchise make the Stanley Cup Finals twice, only to fall at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers dynasty on both occasions.

Cam, who was among the deadliest snipers of his era, amassed 395 goals during his injury-shortened career. His goals per game total as a Boston Bruin stands at a most impressive 65% clip, a mark that ranks him among the all-time elite. In addition to his immense talent, Neely played with an edge in the classic power forward style. Never shy about dropping the gloves, Cam racked up 1241 PIMS in 726 regular season games played. His playoff totals are also most impressive. Cam netted 57 goals and 168 PIMS in 98 playoff games played. In 1991, an unfortunate cheap shot by Ulf Samuelsson cost a then 26-year old Neely literally hundreds of games lost due to a leg injury.

At the time Cam was coming off of back-to-back 50-goal campaigns, and had he avoided that fateful blow, he likely would have ended his career among the all-time goal scoring elite. That fateful leg injury cost him nearly 2 full seasons, and then parts of the remaining few he was able to play. In the 1993-94 season, playing through what was later described as terrible pain, Neely netted a remarkable 50 goals in only 49 games. Cam was 4-times a 2nd team NHL All Star and played in 5 different NHL All Star games. In 1994 he was awarded the Bill Masterson trophy for the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Cam was deservedly inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005.

This white Canadien stick has the player name “Neely” stamped to the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Cam has autographed the blade tape. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
