Bryan Berard New York Islanders Black Bauer Game Used Stick Autographed
Lot #480

This black Bauer Supreme 3030 hockey stick was game used by Bryan Berard while playing for the New York Islanders. Berard, a native of Woonsocket Rhode Island, entered the NHL among much fanfare, being selected 1st overall by the Ottawa Senators and soon after traded to the New York Islanders. He began his career with the Islanders in 1996-97 and captured the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year. Seemingly on a path to stardom, Bryan followed his rookie season with an even better sophomore year as he netted 14 goals. During just his 3rd year on the Island, Mike Milbury dealt Berard to the Leafs in exchange for Felix Potvin. Bryan’s stellar work from the point gave the Leafs an immediate lift, vaulting them to the Eastern Conference Finals the year of his arrival. Late the following year, Berard suffered what looked to be a career ending eye injury. He battled against all odds and returned to the NHL in 2001-02 with the Rangers. He would go on to represent the Bruins, Blackhawks, Blue Jackets and once again the Islanders before retiring from the NHL in 2008, leaving many of us wondering what this talent might have produced were circumstances more kind.

This black Bauer stick has the player name “B Berard” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt. The blade tape has been removed so Bryan could autograph it. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
