Description
Brian Bradley WHA New York Golden Blades Sher-Wood Game Used Stick
Lot #475

This stick was acquired by us from Barry Rednor, who served on the Board of Directors for the New York Raiders and New York Golden Blades.

This Sher-Wood PMP hockey stick was game used by Brian Bradley while playing for the New York Golden Blades. Bradley was an original member of the WHA’s New York franchise who began his WHA career at inception with the New York Raiders. During that inaugural WHA season, amidst ownership default and assumption by the league, this winger netted 22 goals and 55 points. The following season was another tumultuous one for the team and its players as well. They had been rebranded the New York Golden Blades and were under new ownership while still playing in the high rent district at Madison Square Garden. Ownership again defaulted and the league again assumed stewardship, this time just 24 games into the season. At that point the New York Golden Blades became a footnote in history as the franchise was relocated to Cherry Hill, NJ and were rebranded the New Jersey Knights. Bradley remained with the franchise when they relocated to San Diego and were renamed the Mariners the following year, his last of 3 WHA seasons.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name “Bradley” stamped on the side. The player number “14” is written in black marker below the name. The “Gerry Cosby & Co.” stamp is on both sides. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
