Description
Bobby Orr Boston Bruins Victoriaville Game Used Stick
Lot #408

This Victoriaville Pro hockey stick was game used by legendary Hall of Famer Bobby Orr while playing for the Boston Bruins. Orr’s brilliant NHL career began at the age of 18 when in 1966-67 he made his debut with the Boston Bruins and went on to capture the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year. Despite a series of severe knee injuries and subsequent operations, Orr would dominate the sport over the next decade, re-writing the record books in the process. He spent his first 10 seasons with the Boston Bruins, led them to 3 Stanley Cups Finals and walked away with 2 Stanley Cup rings before spending an injury plagued 2 seasons in Chicago. Not only is Bobby considered the best defenseman in the history of the NHL, he is also part of the small group of 2 or 3 players to be discussed as the greatest to ever play the game and as such was ranked 2nd overall in the famous Hockey News publication from the mid 1990’s. Orr’s accomplishments are too lengthy to list in full but include an impressive array of hardware such as 8 Norris Trophies as the NHL’s best defenseman, 2 Art Ross Trophies as the NHL’s leading scorer, 2 Conn Smythe Trophies as the playoff MVP and 3 Hart Trophies as the NHL’s most valuable player. Not only was Bobby perhaps the best hockey player to ever live, he is part of the small list of the 20th Centuries greatest athletes.

This Victoriaville hockey stick has the player name “Orr” and number “4” stamped on the side. Also stamped to both sides is the “Mailhot & Freres Victoriaville, QUE” stamp. The stick is fully taped on the butt while the blade is without tape. Orr used his sticks with and without tape so we’re not sure if the tape was removed or this is how it was used. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
