Description
Bob Sauve Chicago Blackhawks/New Jersey Devils Red Titan Game Used Stick
Lot #540
This red Titan Turbo hockey stick was game used by Bob Sauve while playing for the Chicago Blackhawks or New Jersey Devils. Sauve was drafted in the 1st round of the 1975 NHL Amatuer Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Beginning in 1976-77, Sauve split time between the Sabres and their AHL affiliate as Buffalo sorted out their goaltending situation. Bob finally stuck with the team full time after his call up in 1978-79. In his first full season in Buffalo, 1979-80, Sauve teamed with Don Edwards to win the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalies and led the Sabres to their best season since they appeared in the Finals in 1974-75. Bob alone led the NHL in goals against average with a miniscule 2.36 for the year. Sauve, in tandem with Tom Barrasso, would win the Jennings Trophy in 1984-85 for allowing the fewest goals against. Sauve played in 13 NHL seasons, 9 of them with the Buffalo Sabres before finishing his career with stints in Detroit, Chicago and New Jersey. During that span he won 182 games against only 154 losses and 54 ties.

This red Titan hockey stick has the player name “Sauve” on the side, most of it under the butt tape. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is uncracked an in beautiful condition.
