Cook played 9 seasons of professional hockey in the WHL, AHL, CHL while also playing 72 games in the NHL with the Canucks, Red Wings Islanders and North Stars. Most of his NHL career was with the Islanders, where he joined the team for their inaugural season and played in 55 games in 1972-73 and 1973-74 combined. Cook died on March 29, 1978, at only 32 years of age.
