Description
Bernie Nicholls Los Angeles Kings Purple CCM Game Worn Helmet
Lot #416

This purple hockey helmet by CCM was game worn by Bernie Nicholls while playing for the Los Angeles Kings. The Los Angeles Kings selected Nicholls in the 4th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Nicholls made his NHL debut in 1981-82 with the Kings where he played for parts of 9 seasons before being dealt to the New York Rangers during the 1989-90 campaign. Bernie went onto play for the Rangers, Oilers, Devils, Blackhawks and Sharks before calling it quits after 18 NHL seasons. In a career that spanned 1127 games, Nicholls retired with 475 goals, 734 assists and 1209 points. Bernie was a three-time NHL All Star who was traded by the Kings in his prime. At the time Bernie was Los Angeles’ 5th all-time leading scorer. Merely a few years later, the Rangers dealt Nicholls to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Hall of Famer Mark Messier. Bernie remains one of only 8 players in NHL history to score 70 goals in a season and one of only five players to record 150 points in a season.

This purple CCM helmet has the player number “9” on the back and shows solid game use.
