Andy Moog Boston Bruins Game Worn Mask
Lot #161

This beautiful goalie mask was created by Dom Malerba, the man behind The Pro’s Choice mask company, and worn by Andy Moog around 1992.

Moog spent 18 NHL seasons between the pipes. His career began with the Oilers where he captured 3 Stanley Cups in 7 seasons. After that it was onto Boston where Andy and the Bruins went to 2 Stanley Cup Finals appearances in 3 years only to fall at the hands of his old teammates in the Finals both times. Andy would spend 6 years in Beantown before moving onto Dallas for 4 and then a final season in Montreal. Andy was a 4-time NHL All Star who won the 1990 Jennings Trophy. All said, Andy retired with 372 regular season victories and another 68 playoff wins, quite impressive.

This beautiful hand painted creation by Dom Malerba is completely original in all respects. Dom’s trademark The Pro’s Choice stickers and his dated signature from 1992 are found inside just as they’re supposed to be. A custom sweat band is attached inside by glue just where Andy's forehead would lie. The mask is also signed inside by Andy.

The mask shows nice game use with the forehead sweatband showing plenty of wear as well as the chin strap. The outside paint job is still beautiful but with obvious scratches and chips. We believe this mask was game worn by Moog but, to this point, have not found a photo of him wearing it.
