Alex began his NHL career in 1999-00 with Colorado and spent the first 6 years of his career wearing the burgundy, blue and white colors of the Avalanche. During that span he won a Stanley Cup in only his 2nd NHL season, a year that saw him score 77 regular season points and 21 more in the playoffs.
