This orange CCM Vector hockey stick was game used by NHL superstar Alex Ovechkin during his rookie season. The Washington Capitals selected Ovechkin with the 1st overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After playing in his native Russia for 4 seasons, Ovechkin came to the NHL’s Washington Capitals in 2005-06 and hasn’t looked back. This prolific scorer now has 9 seasons of service to the Caps and has recorded over 400 goals and 800 points in less than 700 regular season games. Alex is 5-times a 50-goal man with a career best of 65 coming in 2007-08. Also to his credit are (4) 100-point seasons and the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 2005-06. In his career Ovechkin has also captured the Art Ross Trophy, (3) Hart Trophies, (4) Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophies, and (3) Lester B. Pearson Trophies. Also to his credit are (9) 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star selections as well as 5 NHL All Star game appearances. Internationally, Ovechkin has represented his native Russia in the World Championships, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and 3 Olympics.
This orange CCM hockey stick had the player nickname “Ovi” lightly on the side but it is no longer readable. It is fully taped on the butt and blade. Alex has autographed the heel. The “Ovechkin authentic” hologram is on the side above the autograph. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
