This black alternate air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Antti Niemi during the 2012-13 NHL season and playoffs. Niemi was born in Vantaa, Finland and played for a handful of seasons in Finland before joining the NHL. Antti began his NHL career between the pipes with the Chicago Blackhawks, with a 3-game stint in 2008-09. During his official rookie season of 2009-10, he made the hockey world take notice as he assumed the starting role in goal and played in all 22 playoff games, leading Chicago to their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1961! During that memorable run, Niemi recorded two shutouts and won all 16 of the Hawks playoff games. During the off-season, following the Cup, Niemi and the Hawks were unable to come to a deal and thus Chicago’s Stanley Cup hero became the man between the pipes for the San Jose Sharks, where he prospered for five years before joining the Dallas Stars in 2015-16. Following 2 seasons with Dallas, Antti joined the two time defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins and then went on to play for the Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens before returning to Europe where he presently plays for Jokerit Helsinki in the KHL.
