2011-12 Robin Lehner Ottawa Senators Vaughn Game Worn Mask Photo Match
Lot #634
This beautiful painted goalie mask by Vaughn and Daveart Designs was worn by Robin Lehner while playing for the Ottawa Senators during the 2011-12 NHL season. The Ottawa Senators selected Lehner in the 2nd round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Gothenburg, Sweden began his NHL career in 2010-11 with the Senators where he guarded the pipes for 5 seasons before joining the Buffalo Sabres to start the 2015-16 campaign. After 3 seasons in Buffalo, Robin played a season with the New York Islanders a partial season with the Chicago Blackhawks and is about to begin his third season with the Vegas Golden Knights. Lehner supplanted Marc-Andre Fleury as the Golden Knights starting goalie during the 2019-20 playoffs where his 1.99 GAA helped lead them to the conference finals. While missing time in the 2020-21 season to a concussion, Lehner had a 13-4-2 record with a 2.29 GAA, as he and Marc-Andre Fleury won the William M. Jennings trophy. Lehner also won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2019-20.

This beautiful mask by Vaughn and painted by David Gunnarsson of Daveart Designs, was worn by Lehner in 2011-12. Lehner first wore this mask with a gold cage and then switched to a white cage later in the season. The Daveart Designs sticker can be found inside as well as David Gunnarsson’s signature which is partially covered by inside padding. Gunnarsson has also autographed the outside of the mask above the right eye, dated 2011. Painted on the backplate is the player name “Lehner” while the player number “40” is painted on the chin. Still attached is the Nike/Bauer neck guard. The mask shows solid game use with all the inside padding intact. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Lehner wearing this exact mask during the 2011-12 season with both the gold and white cages. A beautiful piece from the William M. Jennings trophy winner.
