2011-12 Los Angeles Kings Mini Stanley Cup Championship Trophy Autographed by Jonathan Bernier
Lot #735
This 13” mini Stanley Cup Championship Trophy celebrates the Los Angeles Kings first championship in team history and only the second time they made the Stanley Cup Finals, the other being in 1992-93. The Boston Bruins were the defending Stanley Cup Champions beginning the 94th season of NHL play and looked poised to possibly go back-to-back with a 102-point regular season. The Kings, playing in their 44th season as a franchise, were led by Anze Kopitar, Justin Williams, Dustin Brown, Mike Richards and Drew Doughty.

The Kings finished the regular season with 40 wins and 95 points, 8th in the Western conference and 16 points behind the President Trophy winning Vancouver Canucks. After shocking the #1 seed Canucks in the conference quarterfinals 4-1, they went on to dominate the #2 seed Blues 4-0 in the semifinals and the #3 seed Coyotes 4-1 in the conference finals. The Kings then beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2 in the Stanley Cup Finals for their first Championship in team history.

Along with the above-mentioned players, some other notable names etched to the Cup are owners Philip and Nancy Anschutz and Ed Roski, Luc Robitaille (president), Dean Lombardi (GM), Ron Hextall (asst. GM), Darryl Sutter (head coach), Bill Ranford and Bernie Nicholls.

This unawarded trophy was autographed on the bottom by goaltender Jonathan Bernier. Since we are not sure this trophy ever belonged to Bernier, we are calling it unawarded. This gorgeous example has virtually no scuffing and very little tarnishing. This stunning trophy is in beautiful condition and commemorates the first Stanley Cup Champions in Los Angeles Kings history.
