2009 Thomas Vanek NHL All Star Practice Worn Jersey – “2009 All Star” – Photo Match – NHL Letter
Lot #250

This red air-knit jersey by Reebok was worn by Thomas Vanek during the practice session prior to the 2009 NHL All Star Game on January 25, 2009 at the Bell Center in Montreal. The Buffalo Sabres selected Vanek with the 5th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his award laden college hockey at the University of Minnesota, this native of Vienna, Austria made his NHL debut in 2005-06 with the Buffalo Sabres. Thomas spent 14-years in the NHL, playing the first 8+ seasons of his NHL career with Buffalo. He also represented the Islanders, Canadiens, Wild, Red Wings, Panthers, Canucks and Blue Jackets. Thomas earned the 2006-07 Bud Light Plus-Minus Award, an NHL All Star game appearance and a 2nd Team NHL All Star selection at RW. This All Star was a two time 40-goal scorer who represented his native Austria in the World Championships as well as the Olympics.

Sewn to the right shoulder of this jersey is the Montreal 2009 NHL All Star Game patch. Sewn to the left shoulder are the 1969, 1975 and 1993 Stars to recognize the prior NHL All Star Games that were held at the Montreal Forum. As would be expected, this size 54 sweater shows light use. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Vanek wearing this exact jersey during the 2009 NHL All Star Game Practice session. On the back player number is a beautiful black sharpie signature in Vanek’s own hand. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A beautiful photo matched All Star offering from a 40-Goal season. This jersey will be accompanied by an NHL letter.
