2009-10 Ville Leino Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup Finals Game Worn Jersey - "2010 Stanley Cup Finals" - Rookie Playoff Points & Assists Record - Rookie Finals Assists Record - Photo Match - Team Letter
Lot #136
This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Ville Leino during the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, during his rookie year. Born in Finland, Leino spent more than a handful of seasons playing in SM-liiga before coming to North America to further pursue his career. In 2008-09, he latched onto the Detroit Red Wings and appeared in 13 games for the team made its way to the Cup Finals only to fall at the hands of Sidney Crosby and his Penguins. On February 6th 2010, the Red Wings traded Leino to the Philadelphia Flyers. Ville suited up in 13 regular season games for Philly and then made the league take notice as he turned it up a notch come playoff time. Despite starting the playoffs on the bench, Leino played in 19 postseason games for the Flyers, scoring 7 goals and adding 14 assists for 21 points, which tied Dino Ciccarelli’s long-standing rookie playoff scoring record. Ville’s 14 assists are a rookie playoff scoring record as are his 6 assists in the Stanley Cup Finals. Ville especially shined during those Cup Finals against the Blackhawks, scoring 3 goals and 9 points and going +6 during the 6-game series.

Offered here is Leino’s road Finals jersey, worn in games 1, 2 and 5 at the United Center in Chicago. Leino scored the opening goal in game 1 of the Finals while wearing this jersey and added a 1st period assist that day for good measure. Ville then recorded a 3-assist night in game 5 of the Finals while wearing this sweater on his way to a series of important Stanley Cup rookie records.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is on the light side as would be expected. Worthy of mention are some stick and slash marks, board burns and a one-inch un-repaired gash followed by another smaller un-repaired hole beneath the right sleeve numbers. Shown above are some beautiful photos of Leino wearing his white Cup jersey during games 1, 2 and 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. A tremendous offering, that was worn by this winger during his rookie season as he tied Dino Ciccareeli’s three-decade-old rookie playoff scoring record and set a couple of others in the process, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a Flyers Stanley Cup Finals letter.
