Description
2009-10 Nikolai Khabibulin Edmonton Oilers Reebok Game Worn Blocker & Catcher - Photo Match - Team Letter
Lot #702

This set of blue, gold and white Reebok goalie gloves were game worn by Nikolai Khabibulin during the 2009-10 NHL season while playing for the Edmonton Oilers. After coming over from Russia in 1994, Khabibulin began his NHL career with the Winnipeg Jets. He spent his first 5 seasons with the franchise, three of those years in Phoenix before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning where he tended goal for parts of 4 seasons. Nikolai next guarded the pipes in Chicago for 4 seasons before joining the Edmonton Oilers where he presently resides. Nikolai has represented his native Russia in the World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics and he is also a 4-time NHL All Star participant. During the 2009-10 season, Khabibulin notched his 300th career win which placed him in rare company, top 20 all-time and counting. His crowning achievement came in 2003-04 when he backstopped the Lightning to the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, posting all 16 Wins and a remarkable 1.71 GAA in those playoffs!

This set of blue, gold and white Reebok goalie gloves both have the player name “Khabibulin” stitched on the back.  Shown above are numerous photo matches of Khabibulin wearing these exact gloves during the 2009-10 season. Both the blocker and catcher show great game use and have been personally signed by Nikolai. This set will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
