2009-10 Michael Ryder Boston Bruins Winter Classic Practice Worn Jersey - "Winter Classic" - Photo Match - Team/Winter Classic Letter
Lot #383

This white air-knit and knit practice jersey by Reebok was worn by Michael Ryder during the 2009-10 NHL season. Ryder was drafted by the Canadiens in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. After a breakthrough year with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2002-03, Ryder broke the Canadians lineup in 2003-04 and earned all-rookie honors with a 25 goal, 63-point performance. Michael followed up that rookie year with back-to-back 30 goal seasons for Les Habitants. After 4 seasons with Montreal, Ryder joined the Boston Bruins in the summer of 2008 and has been there for the past 3 years.

The third annual Winter Classic was held at Boston’s Fenway Park on January 1st 2010, New Years Day. It pitted the Philadelphia Flyers against the hometown Boston Bruins. To the delight of 38,112 fans that braved the cold New England winter day and packed the ballpark, the Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in overtime.

This white Reebok jersey was worn during the Boston Bruins outdoor practice at Fenway Park in the midst of a snowfall on December 31st, New Years Eve Day. Sewn to the right breast of this jersey is the Boston 2010 Winter Classic patch. Shown above is a photo of Ryder wearing this exact jersey during the Boston Bruins outdoor practice at Fenway Park on New Years Eve Day. The snow falling in the background only served to make the setting even more perfect. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A beautiful piece of NHL history. This jersey will be accompanied by a Bruins/Winter Classic letter.
