2009-10 Michael Ryder Boston Bruins Winter Classic Game Worn Jersey – “2010 Winter Classic” – NHL Letter
Lot #126

This gold air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Michael Ryder during the 2009-10 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Ryder in the 8th round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. After a breakthrough year with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2002-03, Ryder broke the Canadians lineup in 2003-04 and earned all-rookie honors with a 25 goal, 63-point performance. Michael followed up that rookie year with back-to-back 30 goal seasons for the Canadiens. Following four seasons with Montreal, Ryder joined the Boston Bruins where he played for the next three seasons and won his only Stanley Cup Championship. Ryder finished up his playing days with a two-year stop in Dallas where in his first season he scored a career-best 35 Goals, a brief return to Montreal and a couple of seasons in New Jersey.

The third annual Winter Classic was held at Boston’s Fenway Park on January 1st 2010. It pitted the Philadelphia Flyers against the hometown Boston Bruins. To the delight of 38,112 fans that packed the ballpark and braved the cold New England winter day, the Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in overtime.

Sewn to the right breast of this jersey is the Boston 2010 Winter Classic patch. Featuring a throwback felt crest and light game wear, this Winter Classic gamer was donned by Michael Ryder during the 1st period of this Classic contest. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A beautiful offering from the fourth regular-season outdoor game in NHL history. This jersey will be accompanied by an NHL letter.
