2009-10 Marian Hossa Chicago Blackhawks Warrior Game Worn Gloves - Stanley Cup Season - Autographed - Team Letter
Lot #706

These black, red & yellow Warrior hockey gloves were game worn by Marian Hossa during the 2009-10 Stanley Cup winning season.  Marian was the Ottawa Senators 1st round selection in the 1997 NHL entry draft, going 12th overall. Hossa began his career in Ottawa where he played for 7 years. Three seasons followed in Atlanta and then a deadline deal sent him to Pittsburgh where he played at the end of 2007-08 making a run to the Stanley Cup Finals.

After the 2007-08 season, Hossa signed a one year free agent contract with the Detroit Red Wings.  Marian had a good season with the Wings, leading the team in goals with 40 and averaging almost a point per game.  Interestingly, Marian wound up in the finals again, facing off against his former team from the year before, the Penguins.  After a hard fought 7-game series, Marian again came out on the losing side as the Red Wings were defeated 2-1 in the seventh game.

The 2008-09 off-season saw Marian sign a long term contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.   On May 23, 2010, the Blackhawks beat the San Jose Sharks to earn a trip to the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals.  Marian became the first player in NHL history to play in three consecutive finals with 3 different teams.  On June 9, 2010, Marian celebrated with his teammates as he finally won his first Stanley Cup, as the Blackhawks defeated the Flyers to win their first championship in 49 years.  Blackhawks  captain Jonathan Toews handed the Cup to Hossa first during the team pass-around.

Hossa is averaging nearly a point per game thus far in a career that has spanned almost 900 NHL games in 13 seasons. He has already played in 4 NHL All Star games.  Marian is nearing the 400-goal plateau as the 2011-12 season is about to begin.

These black, red & yellow Warrior gloves have the player nickname "Hoss" on the cuff.  They also have the player number "81" on the thumb.  They are inscribed "Game Used 2009-2010".  Marian has autographed each in silver sharpie.  These gloves will be accompanied by a Blackhawks team letter.
