2009-10 Justin Abdelkader Grand Rapids Griffins Game Worn Jersey Alternate
Lot #171
This home white alternate air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Justin Abdelkader during the 2009-10 AHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Abdelkader in the 2nd round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Michigan State University, this Muskegon, MI native made his NHL debut in 2007-08 with Detroit. Abdelkader spent his entire 13-year NHL career on the LW with the Red Wings.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right shoulder is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 56 alternate consists of stick and slash marks, material pulls and inner pilling. This one-game alternate was worn on January 30, 2010 as Grand Rapids hosted the Rockford Ice Hogs. Shown above is a screen capture of Abdelkader leaving the ice following a fight against Richard Petiot as time expired. On the back player number is a beautiful black sharpie signature in Abdelkader’s own hand. A tough to find one-game alternate, complete with the coveted letter of honor and hailing from this NHL veteran’s brief time with the Griffins.
