After playing his college hockey at UMass-Amherst, this Brentwood, CA native made his NHL debut in 2009-10 with the Minnesota Wild. Wellman spent three seasons with the Wild before finalizing his NHL career with the Washington Capitals. Wellman also spent a handful of seasons in the AHL and then continued his career in Europe.
