Lot #142
This white knit 1976 throwback gamer by Nike was worn by Steve Staios during the 2008 World Championships. St. Louis Blues selected Staios in the 2nd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This Hamilton native made his NHL debut in 1995-96 with the Boston Bruins where he played for two seasons. Staios went on to represent the Canucks, Thrashers, Oilers, Flames and the Islanders before retiring in 2012. Staios represented Team Canada on the international stage in four World Championships and put forth 1001 games of NHL service to go along with 1322 PIMS during his playing career.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the lower verso are the 1976 patch and the IIHF 100-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the shoulders are the sponsorship patches. The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Staios wearing this exact jersey during the 2008 World Championships. A beautiful photo matched 1976 throwback that features multiple patches and sports the coveted letter of honor. This jersey will be accompanied by a Team Canada letter.
