2008-09 Sergei Zubov Dallas Stars Game Worn Jersey Final NHL Season Team Letter
Lot #103
This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Sergei Zubov during the 2008-09 NHL season, the final year of his Hall of Fame career. The New York Rangers selected Zubov in the 5th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a handful of seasons playing in his native Moscow, Zubov made his NHL debut in 1992-93 with the Rangers. In his 2nd NHL season, Sergei played an integral role in helping the Rangers to the 1994 Stanley Cup Championship. Zubov spent three years with New York before playing a lone season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. In 1996-97 he joined the Dallas Stars where he remained for the final 12 years of his NHL career. While with the Stars, Sergei helped the franchise to their first and only Stanley Cup in 1999. This high scoring defenseman scored 771 points in 1068 career games. He recorded a single season best of 89 with the Rangers during their Stanley Cup season of 1993-94. Zubov was a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, was three-times an NHL All Star and also has a 2nd Team NHL All Star selection to his credit. Zubov was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame with the class of 2019.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this 1st set size 58 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired holes and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. Sergei played in just 10 games during this, his last NHL season, thus making this example, complete with the letter of honor, one of the Hall of Famer’s final game worn jerseys. This jersey will be accompanied by a Stars team letter.
