2008-09 Patrick Sharp Chicago Blackhawks Game Worn Jersey – Alternate – “2009 Winter Classic” – Photo Match
Lot #178

This black alternate air-knit jersey by Reebok was worn by Patrick Sharp during the 2008-09 Winter Classic at Wrigley Field in Chicago during pre-game warm-ups. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Sharp in the 3rd round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of Vermont, Sharp began his NHL career with the Flyers in 2002-03 and spent parts of three years in Philadelphia. Patrick joined the Hawks in 2005-06 and became a fixture on the team, rattling off four 30-goal seasons for Chicago as they won three Stanley Cups in a 6-year span. Due to salary cap issues, Sharp was traded to the Dallas Stars during the summer of 2015. Upon becoming a free agent in 2017, The Blackhawks reacquired their All Star winger where he wrapped up his career in 2018. Sharp was the 2011 NHL All Star Game MVP. This four-time 30 goal scorer valiantly represented Team Canada in the World Championships and the Olympics.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right breast is the 2009 Wrigley Field Winter Classic patch. Patrick wore this jersey during the official photo shoot as well as during pre-game warm-ups as Chicago took to the ice at Wrigley Field. Shown above is a beautiful photo of Sharp wearing this exact jersey a he and his teammates left the dugout and took to the ice for pre-game warm-ups. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. The Blackhawks wore these 1936-38 styled throwback sweaters during their first ever appearance in the Winter Classic. The game took place on New Years Day, 2009 at Wrigley Field in Chicago in front of more than 40,000 fans. A terrific piece of Blackhawks history, complete with the letter of honor and worn by this three-time Stanley Cup Champion as the Chicago Blackhawks made their first ever Winter Classic appearance.
