This home red air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Mikko Koivu during the 2008-09 NHL season. The Minnesota Wild selected Koivu in the 1st round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. After playing in his native Finland for a handful of years, Koivu made his NHL debut in 2005-06 with the Wild. Koivu played in 16 NHL seasons, having spent the first 15 of them in Minnesota. In fact, Koivu spent 12 consecutive seasons serving as the Wild Team Captain. On the international stage, Mikko represented his native Finland in numerous World Championships, the 2004 and 2016 World Cups of Hockey and a couple of Olympics.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and team-sewn repairs to both sleeves. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Minnesota Wild game worn jersey and set tagging. A beautiful example that hails from the early part of Koivu’s career.
