This burgundy and white Vaughn goalie catcher was practice worn by Ilya Bryzgalov during the 2008-09 NHL season while playing for the Phoenix Coyotes. Ilya was drafted by the Mighty Ducks in the 2nd round of the 2000 NHL entry draft. With J.S. Giguere ahead of him in Anaheim, Ilya spent most of 2001-02 through 2004-05 seasons playing for the Mighty Ducks AHL affiliate in Cincinnati.  With playing time hard to come by, Ilya was placed on waivers by the Mighty Ducks on November 16, 2007.  Being clamed by the Coyotes the next day, Bryzgalov had 4 great seasons in Phoenix including a 42 Win season in 2009-10 and consecutive seasons of 65, 69 and 68 games started.

The Philadelphia Flyers, desperate for a consistent goaltender for many years, acquired the negotiation rights to Bryzgalov this summer.  On June 23, 2011 the Flyers signed Bryzgalov to 9-year 51 million dollar contract to be their starter.
