Description
2008-09 Andre Roy Calgary Flames Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #218
This home red air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Andre Roy during the 2008-09 NHL season, his last in the NHL. The Boston Bruins selected Roy in the 6th round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Roy, a native of Port Chester, NY, enjoyed an 11-year NHL career that began with the Bruins in 1995-96. Andre would spend 2 years with Boston, 3 more with the Senators, parts of 5 in Tampa Bay, and a year each in Pittsburgh and Calgary. This Left Winger was a noted pugilist who accumulated 1169 PIMS over the course of 515 regular season games played. He won his only Stanley Cup as a member of the Lightning in 2003-04 and amassed 61 PIMS in 21 playoff games that historic post season.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 58+ sweater is solid and consists of an impressive amount of fight abuse and plenty of pilling. The front collar of this gamer features plenty of team-sewn repair work that runs downward into the eyelets. A custom fight strap has been added to the inside belly and a large rectangular sew job emanates just beneath the crest. Lest we not forget to mention the massive tear that begins at the upper left shoulder and runs down to the lower left hip. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. The NHL inventory number also resides in black sharpie on the inside of the traditional fight strap patch. A terrific enforcer jersey from Roy’s final NHL season. This jersey will be a accompanied by a Flames team letter.
