After an All-American college career at USC, McGinest was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 4th overall pick in the 1994 NHL Draft. He started his NFL career in the 1994 season and played in all 16 games for the Patriots. McGinest played 12 seasons in New England before ending his 15-year career with three seasons in Cleveland. In New England, McGinest was selected to two Pro Bowls and was a 3-time Super Bowl Champion. He was a member of the Patriots All-1990’s, All-2000’s and All-Dynasty teams and is a member of the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. He holds the NFL record for most career postseason sacks (16) and most sacks in a single postseason game (4.5).
