2007-08 Georges Laraque Penguins Game Worn Jersey - "Winter Classic 2008" - Team Letter
Lot #127

This striking blue air-knit tie-down gamer by Reebok was worn by Georges Laraque as the NHL made history by holding an NHL game outdoors in what was the 2007-08 Winter Classic. Laraque began his career with the 1997-98 Edmonton Oilers where he played for 8 seasons. After a brief stay in Phoenix, Laraque moved onto the Pittsburgh Penguins where he took part in the teams Stanley Cup Finals run in 2008. He has since signed with Les Habitants. In a career that has spanned 600+ games, Georges has already amassed 1000+ PIMS.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Winter Classic 2008 patch. This tie-down was worn in front of over 71,000 fans in snowy cold Buffalo on New Years day as the NHL played their first ever outdoor game in the United States. The throwback Pittsburgh colors, as well as the old-time circle crest, give this sweater tremendous eye appeal. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Pittsburgh Penguins Winter Classic patch. Also sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. The fight strap has been signed by the Penguins head equipment man in blue sharpie. This gamer is sure to brighten up your jersey display and will forever be looked upon as a piece of NHL history for having been worn in the first ever Winter Classic. This jersey will be accompanied by a Penguins team letter.
