2007-08 Bryan Berard New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match - Team Letter
Lot #250
This white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Bryan Berard during the 2007-08 NHL season. Berard, a native of Woonsocket Rhode Island, entered the NHL among much fanfare, being selected 1st overall by the Ottawa Senators and soon after traded to the New York Islanders. He began his career with the Islanders in 1996-97 and captured the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year. Seemingly on a path to stardom, Bryan followed his rookie season with an even better sophomore year as he netted 14 goals. The epic mismanagement of the Islanders during the era took over as the brass became disenchanted with Berard and dealt him to the Leafs in exchange for Felix Potvin the following year. Bryan gave the Leafs an immediate lift, vaulting the club to the Semi-Finals after his arrival. Late the next year Bryan suffered what looked to be a career ending eye injury. He battled against all odds and returned to the NHL in 2001-02 with the Rangers. He would go on to represent the Bruins, Blackhawks, Blue Jackets and once again the Islanders before retiring.

The game wear on this set 3 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Berard wearing this exact jersey during the 2008-09 season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A nice example worn during Berard’s final NHL season. This jersey will be accompanied by an Islanders team letter.
