2006-07 Petr Sykora Edmonton Oilers Practice Worn Jersey – Team Letter
Lot #181

This white knit practice jersey by Reebok was worn by Petr Sykora in practice sessions during the 2006-07 NHL season. The New Jersey Devils selected Sykora in the 1st round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Sykora began his NHL career with the Devils in 1995-96 and remained with the franchise for 7 years, long enough to capture his first Stanley Cup. Petr next spent two and a half years with Anaheim, where he led his team to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against his former mates. A half season on Broadway followed prior to joining the Oilers for the 2006-07 season. Next up it was a 2-year stay with Pittsburgh where Petr’s leadership helped guide the young Penguins to two straight Stanley Cup Finals, and saw his team walk away with the Cup in 2009. The 2009-10 season was spent in Minnesota before Sykora headed to Europe to continue his career. The 2011-12 season saw Petr make a return to the NHL, scoring over 20 goals and playing every game with the team he began his career with, the Devils. Winning wherever he went, Sykora netted better than 300 goals and also represented the Czech Republic in the 1996 and 2004 World Cup of Hockey as well as the 2002 Olympics.

This size 58 practice jersey features stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Sykora’s player number 71 is penned in black sharpie on the fight strap. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. This jersey will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
