2006-07 Marcus Nilson Calgary Flames Game Worn Jersey “30 Mike Vernon Night”
Lot #174
This home red air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Marcus Nilson on Mike Vernon Night during the 2006-07 NHL season. The Florida Panthers selected Nilson in the 1st round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Nilson, a native of Balsta, Sweden, made his NHL debut in 1998-99 with the Panthers where he spent much of the first six seasons of a 9-year NHL career. Marcus played the remaining four seasons of his NHL career with the Calgary Flames. After leaving the NHL, Nilson played for 7 more years, the first with Yaroslavl in the LHK and the remainder in his native Sweden.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is Mike Vernon’s “30”. The Flames paid tribute to their Stanley Cup winning goalie on February 7, 2007 as they raised Vernon’s number to the rafters. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is light as would be expected. Shown above is a photo of Nilson taken on Mike Vernon Night. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A nice patched offering that paid tribute to Mike Vernon, a Calgary Flames all-time great.
