This white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Josef Vasicek during the 2006-07 NHL season. The Carolina Hurricanes selected Vasicek in the 4th round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. This Czech native made his NHL debut in 2000-01 with the Hurricanes. After 6 seasons in Carolina, Josef spent time with the Nashville Predators and a final season with the New York Islanders before leaving the NHL for the KHL. It proved to be an ill-fated decision. As Vasicek was readying for his fourth year in the Russian Hockey League, he and his Yaroslavl Lokomotiv teammates boarded the team plane in September 2011 and all of them lost their lives in the now infamous KHL plane crash.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. Sewn alongside is the official Nashville Predators game worn jersey and set tagging. A nice offering from Vasicek’s brief time with the Predators.
