Description
2006-07 Chris Simon New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match – Team Letter
Lot #202

This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Chris Simon during the 2006-07 NHL season. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Simon in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career in Quebec in 1992-93 and remained with the franchise thru their move to Colorado in what was a Stanley Cup winning season. Simon next joined the Washington Capitals, where he spent 7 years and made another appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. Other NHL stops include Chicago, New York where he appeared with the Rangers and Islanders, Calgary where he again went to the Cup Finals and Minnesota. After leaving the NHL, Simon spent several seasons playing in Russia’s KHL. This legendary enforcer took on all comers and ended his NHL career with 1824 PIMS. That total included a career high of 250 PIMS in his Cup winning season in Colorado. A fact that may surprise many is that Simon scored a career high 29-goals with the Capitals in 1999-00.

The game wear on this 1st set size 58 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, an un-repaired gash on the shoulder, un-repaired stitch popping at the front collar and areas of heavy pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Simon wearing this exact jersey during the 2006-07 season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A beautiful photo matched example from Simon’s first year on the Island. This jersey will be accompanied by an Islanders team letter.
