This black alternate dazzle cloth gamer by Nike was worn by Travis Zajac during the 2005-06 WCHA season. The New Jersey Devils selected Zajac in the 1st round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After spending 2 years at the University of North Dakota, Zajac immediately joined the New Jersey Devils in 2006-07 where he has been a fixture at center ice for the past 9 seasons.
Zajac was one of North Dakota’s brightest stars who helped lead his team to the Frozen Four in each of his two seasons with the school. The 2004-05 regular season saw Zajac net 17 goals and 36 points. During the post season Zajac really turned things up a notch. In the East Regional Final Travis netted a pair of goals to help the Fighting Sioux defeat Boston College and make it to the Frozen Four. In the Semi-Final game against Minnesota, Zajac added another pair of goals as UND won by a score of 4-2 to advance to the Finals against Denver. Travis scored another goal in the Final game but it wasn’t enough to lift the Sioux to a title. For his outstanding efforts, Travis was named to the Championship All-Tournament Team as well as the NCAA East All-Tournament Team and the WCHA All-Rookie Team. During his sophomore season, while wearing this sweater, Zajac lit the lamp 18 times and added 29 assists for 47 points in 46 games played and then helped the Fighting Sioux back to the Frozen Four for a 2nd consecutive season.
The game wear on this size 56 alternate sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. This was one of only two black jerseys that Zajac wore during his entire collegiate career in North Dakota. A tremendous offering worn by Zajac during his last college season!
