Description
2005-06 David Aebischer Colorado Avalanche Game Worn Jersey - "10-year Anniversary" - "Katrina Cares"
Lot #292
This home burgandy air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by David Aebischer during the 2005-06 NHL season. The Colorado Avalanche selected Aebischer in the 6th round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Switzerland made his NHL debut in 2000-01 with the Avalanche and stood between the pipes in Colorado for parts of 5 seasons before joining the Montreal Canadiens at the deadline in 2005-06. After a couple of years with the Canadiens, David played for the Phoenix Coyotes before returning to the Swiss-A league where continues to star.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Katrina Cares patch. Sewn just above this is the Colorado Avalanche 10-year anniversary patch. This jersey was worn during the home opener on October 10th 2005 against the Calgary Flames as the NHL rallied to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Aebischer backstopped the Avs to a 7-3 win that night while wearing this jersey. The game wear on this Katrina set size 58 goalie cut sweater is light but evident, appropriate for a 1-gamer. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging.
