2005-06 Chris Pronger Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match – Team Letter
Lot #109

This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok and Elite Sportswear was worn by Chris Pronger during the 2005-06 NHL regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs. Pronger’s Hall of Fame career began in 1993 when Hartford made him the 2nd overall selection in the NHL Entry Draft that year. Chris spent 2 seasons on the Whalers blueline before a blockbuster deal sent him to St. Louis in exchange for Brendan Shanahan. Chris spent 9 seasons honing his craft in St. Louis before joining Edmonton for a year. He next spent 3 seasons with Anaheim and then completed his career delivering bone-crunching hits for the Philadelphia Flyers before being forced into premature retirement due to post concussion syndrome.

Pronger’s timely additions to Edmonton, Anaheim and Philadelphia all saw those teams make it to the Stanley Cup Finals in his first year of service, quite a statement. It would then come as no surprise that Pronger won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman, the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player along with a couple of plus/minus awards and the ultimate trophy, the Stanley Cup. Chris was a 4-time 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in a handful of NHL All Star games. No stranger to the international stage, Pronger represented Team Canada in 4 different Olympics! Considered one of the finest defenseman of his era, Pronger was recently voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on his first ballot.

The sleeves on this gamer have been custom shortened for Pronger by the team. The game wear on this 3rd set size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Pronger wearing this exact jersey during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, the game that sent the Oilers into the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. Sewn into the hem of this gamer is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. Sewn alongside is the official Edmonton game worn jersey and set tagging. A fantastic customized example worn during and photo matched to the game that sent this Hall of Famer on to play for his first ever Stanley Cup. This jersey will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
