This blue knit 1932 Throwback gamer by Nike was worn by Jason Blake during the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. Blake played a year of college hockey with Ferris State before spending three seasons with the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota. After graduating, Jason made his NHL debut in 1998-99 with the LA Kings. This native of Moorhead, MN spent his first three seasons with Los Angeles in what would become a 13-year NHL career. Blake also represented the Islanders where he skated for 6 years, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Anaheim Ducks. Blake set a career high when he netted 40 goals in 2006-07 with the Islanders, earning himself a spot on the NHL All Star team. A year later, in his first season with the Leafs, Jason won the Bill Masterton Trophy. On the international stage, Blake represented Team USA in several World Championships, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and the 2006 Olympics.
Team USA turned back the clock and paid homage to the 1932 US Olympic Team that won the Silver Medal at Lake Placid, New York. Sewn to the left breast of this 1932 Throwback is the 2004 World Cup of Hockey patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is on the lighter side as would be expected with some stick marks and board burns most worthy of mention. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Team USA game worn jersey tagging. Affixed alongside is the official Nike barcode. On the back player number is a beautiful black sharpie signature n Blake’s own hand. A nice USA offering worn by this 40-goal scoring NHL All Star.
