Lot #184

Kevin Kerr retired as the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of minor professional hockey with 677 goals. Offered here is an incredible selection of game worn items from Kevin’s record breaking season. This was the final year in this illustrious player’s professional career and the one in which he attained the all-time scoring record and also made the cover of The Hockey News. So historic was Kevin’s record breaking goal that the Hockey Hall of Fame took the jersey, stick and puck from that momentous occasion to place in the annals of hockey history.

This home white air-knit and mesh tie-down gamer by OT was worn by Kevin Kerr during the 2004-05 UHL season. A draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the 3rd round of the 1986 NHL entry draft, Kevin never cracked the Sabres roster. Instead, Kevin’s professional hockey journey spanned 18 seasons for 15 teams across 5 minor leagues where he racked up better than 3700 PIMS while shattering the all-time scoring record with 677 goals. He retired as the UHL’s all-time leader in several categories; goals 469, power play goals 73 and game winning goals 65. He ranked 3rd in points 901, and PIMS 1776, 4th in short handed goals 25, 5th in assists 432 and 6th in games played 598. Kevin won the UHL’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1993-94 and had his # 20 retired to the rafters by Flint, the team with which he is most well known.

This gamer was worn by Kevin Kerr during his record breaking 2004-05 season. This was, in fact, the jersey that Kevin was switched to when the HHOF took his record breaking jersey to Toronto, ceremony photos can be seen above. This would be the last Flint home jersey that Kerr would wear during his wonderful career. It was during the 2004-05 UHL season that Kerr, while a member of the Flint Generals, scored goal number 664 to set the all-time minor professional hockey scoring record.

Sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Miller Lite patch. Sewn to the right breast is the Taco Bell patch. Game wear on this set 2 sweater is solid consisting of numerous stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer and fine inner pilling. Shown above are numerous photo matches of Kevin wearing this exact jersey during the 2004-05 season. Also shown above is a video tribute to Kerr where you are able to see Kevin get switched to this jersey so that his record breaking goal shirt could be taken by the Hockey Hall of Fame back to Toronto. Included with your puchase will be the full half hour tribute DVD of this momentous evening. Historic jersey from Kerr’s record breaking season.  This jersey will be accompanied by a Flint Generals team letter.
