2003-04 Ryan Malone Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey – Rookie - Photo Match
Lot #210
This road white air-knit gamer by Reebok was worn by Ryan Malone during the 2003-04 NHL season, his rookie year. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Malone, a native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, in the 4th round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Malone spent 4 years at St. Cloud State before joining the Penguins in 2003-04 when he became the first Pittsburgh born player to ever suit up for the team in an NHL game. Ryan, the son of Penguins legend Greg Malone, spent the first 4 seasons of his career with the Penguins where, during his last year in Pittsburgh, he made a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. Following the loss in the Cup Finals, the Tampa Bay Lightning made a deal to acquire Malone from the Penguins. Ryan has spent the past 6 seasons skating for the Lightning and helped his club to the cusp of the Cup Finals in 2011. On the international stage, Malone has already represented Team USA in a couple of World Championships and the 2010 Olympics where he scored 3 goals and 5 points in 6 games and came home with a Silver Medal.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 58 rookie sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above are some beautiful photo matches of Malone wearing this exact jersey during his rookie season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Pittsburgh Penguins game worn jersey and set tagging.
