Lot #288

This cream Eastern Conference air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Ilya Kovalchuk during the 2003-04 NHL All Star Game in Minnesota. The Atlanta Thrashers selected Kovalchuk with the first overall selection in the 2001 NHL Draft. In his rookie season of 2001-02, he finished 2nd in the Calder trophy voting to teammate Dany Heatley. With 11 years of NHL experience under his belt, Ilya had already scored 417 goals and 816 points in 816 games played prior to leaving the NHL for the KHL in 2013. To his credit are two 50-goal seasons and three more 40-goal seasons. He played in three NHL All Star games, was named a 1st and a 2nd Team NHL All Star and has won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy as the NHL’s leading goal scorer. Furthermore, Ilya’s international resume continues to impress with appearances in the World Cup of Hockey, numerous World Championships and three Olympics.
